Aug 20-21, 2010

The Basement Doctor's Barrier Free Living Division is sponsoring the 10TV Health & Fitness Expo: a free to the public event designed to capture the attention of tens of thousands of health conscious consumers. Attendees are given access to free potentially life saving health tests and screenings and valuable medical and health information, even as they.are engaged and entertained by a variety of interactive sports and activities that are fun for the whole family, including Healthy Cooking demonstrations, soccer, rock climbing, and much more. Also on the same weekend...

We're also donating our booth space at the Annual Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival to The Melanoma Research Foundation. And sponsoring the 6 foot tall car show trophy.

About the Tomato Festival: About The Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival. It All Started 45 Years Ago.... In October 1965, Reynoldsburg City Council dedicated a plaque commemorating a proclamation from the Franklin County Historical Society that named Reynoldsburg as the birthplace of the commercial tomato.

Annually for 45 years now, the citizens of Reynoldsburg have organized the Tomato Festival in celebration and rememberance of that proclamation. Each year, the festival draws thousands of visitors, not only the people of Reynoldsburg, but also people from around Central Ohio and from around the state who want to enjoy home-grown family fun.This year's festival takes place August 20 and 21 at Huber Park on Davidson Drive, just south of E. Main Street. Festival-goers enjoy tomato displays and contests, consessions, arts and crafts exhibits, live musical entertainment, children's activities, and the opportunity to meet the friendly people of Reynoldsburg.

The Basement Doctor will host Carol Ricks from Worly Plumbing as she talks on “What you need to know before you start tearing out or spending money”. Carol explains what you need to know about remodeling your bathroom. The remodeling of your bathroom is one home improvement that can return most or all of your investment at resale, if done properly. A bathroom remodel can also be designed to improve energy conservative, or provide additional comfort from a stressful day at work.

Whether you are simply updating a vanity, tearing out a tub, or tackling a total renovation; there are many variables which must be considered before starting the project. Do your homework first! Learn about the products. Faucets, sinks, shower options and other elements that can make a difference in your bathroom.

On Saturday, April 25th, “The Basement Doctor” will host local realtor, Gwen Rader ABR, SRES from ReMax Champions in Pickerington. Gwen will be discussing “Selling your home in today’s market, 5 tips to get your home sold fast.” Gwen will also shed light on four common errors that sellers should avoid. The Basement Doctor’s Interior Designer, Dana Fularz, will also share advice on “Setting the Stage” with tips and ideas to stage your home to sell in a competitive market.

The Basement Doctor is also sponsoring “Dog-ese for Kids”, a bite prevention class. The April 11th class is from 10-Noon at the Reynoldsburg Showroom, and designed to help children (5 and older) and adults learn more about dogs and ways for kids to be safe around dogs. According to Montigny, “Statistics show that as many 61% of dog bites happen at home or in a familiar place. The majority of biting dogs, as high as 77%, belong to the victim’s family or a friend.
