The Basement Doctor Is Partnering With Honor Flight To Send WW II Vets To See Their Memorial In DC.
We're donating $100.00 from each job sold in November!
But time is of the essence. We're losing 1,000 WWII vets a day!
Our World War II veterans are a precious treasure. Their sacrifice so many years ago stopped ruthless aggression and ensured America's place as a world leader. Many of these men - and women - were uprooted from their civilian lives to join the massive war effort, often at ages as young as 17. Many never came back. Other saw action more horrible than Hollywood could ever produce. We're helping to honor them.
The Basement Doctor has partnered with Honor Flight, the organization which transports and provides veterans with a free, one-day chaperoned trip to DC to see their memorial - finally built in 2004.To help fund Honor Flight, (during November) The Basement Doctor is donating $100.00 from each job sold to Honor Flight. The Basement Doctor team wants to get as many WWII and Korean War vets as possible to DC - ASAP! But time isn't on our side.
Regrettably, many of these aging vets have been unable to visit their memorial in a conventional way on their own due to lack of funds or travel impediments. Through volunteer guardians who pay their own way, Honor Flight overcomes many of the problems and escort them on this “trip of a lifetime.” These all-expense-paid, one-day trips to the nation’s capital occur April – November, as donations permit.
Enjoy this quick video of our General Manager Tom Johnston, organizer Gloria Campana and WWII vet Robert Beach discussing what Honor Flight means to them!
