Project Description

Problem:

The homeowner Dan stated there were a couple of issues that needed to be fixed in their basement. Dan stated that they were getting water in their crawl space and musty odors. He stated the floors were cold in the room above as a result. He also stated that they had a bowing basement wall. In this particular case study you can see a multiplicity of issues. In a home that is 50 years old, these issues can be major if unaddressed. The crawl space itself is about 5 blocks high and had been getting water in for quite a while according to the homeowner. Needing a solution, they called The Basement Doctor!

Solution:

The Basement Doctor sent Project Manager Jarrod McDonald out to examine the issues. Jarrod has a reputation that precedes him to be efficient in finding problems and solution. After thoroughly examining the issues, Jarrod suggested a few options to solve the homeowner’s basement dilemmas. Jarrod suggested waterproofing the crawl space. This would solve all flooding issues and insure that water would not drain into the crawl space but away from it. Jarrod also suggested a Crawl Space Encapsulation. This would further keep the crawl space from flooding but also save on high energy bills as a result of a poorly insulated crawl space. Lastly he suggested Force Beams to help straighten the structure of the bowed wall. Jarrod was able to provide the customer with solutions and peace of mind. The homeowners were able to rest assured knowing that they had called the right place!
