This past Sunday, AMF Sawmill Lanes in Dublin was a sea of Scarlet and Gray as supporters for the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer and former Buckeye players came out to participate in the third annual Meyer Bowl organized by Shelley and Urban Meyer.
Proceeds from this event and the Buckeye Cruise go directly to the Urban & Shelley Meyer Fund for Cancer Research. Participants who donated money to this important cause could form teams, sponsor lanes and bowl with the former players. The Basement Doctor was excited to lace up their bowling shoes and formed a strong team with Ron Greenbaum, The Basement Doctor; Ed Meyer, Senior Project Manager; Rob Giffin, Senior Foreman; and Mike Stiers, Brand Development Specialist.
Because we sponsored a lane, The Basement Doctor had the pleasure of bowling with a celebrity bowler, former Buckeye player Dimitrious Stanley. We had a great time talking football with Dimitrious, and we even chatted about his future with the Columbus City Council.
Other former players in attendance included Jake Ballard, Bobby Carpenter, Craig Krenzel, Anthony Schlegel, John Simon, William White, and Justin Zwick. The bowling talent was impressive all around. Even Shelley Meyer hit the lanes. But it was Craig Krenzel who came out on top with the win over the other Buckeye celebrities.
This was not The Basement Doctor’s first time to lend their support to the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer. Back in 2012, we donated a completely finished basement to the highest bidder at an auction raising funds for the cause. The winner was former Buckeye player Bobby Carpenter.
